who;

i never really know what to write in these things. all day i have smatterings of thoughts pin-balling inside my mind and by the time i get to my notebook or my keyboard it stops. wait for it....no. fakeout. as a last resort i quote random lyrics from various artists i love because i feel my words will never be as great as theirs. that they can describe my moods and thoughts better than i can.

all my life i've felt like some keen observer of mankind. as a child i'd sit in class with my stewing thoughts, impatient to get home and write everything down in my notebook. "harriet the spy" taught me never to let this notebook out of my sight; to let it leave my house would equal certain social death. like i ever had social life! and boy did i embellish. and exaggerate. a habit that i have retained in my story-telling. my imagination is over-active. blame mr. rogers.

at this point all i really know *how* to do is write and learn. my goal is to give. a big part of me is hesitant to grow up, but i will use this fear to better myself. this fall i will be starting work on my masters in developmental psychology. i want to work with children and families, and study the family dynamic. it was only because of my own strong family structure that i felt free enough to be myself.

what i love;

music that transports me, writing in my free time, my beautiful cat kiwi, killing braincells on the internet (in moderation), quiet nights at home and nights out on the town, new york city, hole-in-the-wall places you ignored for so long and later discovered how amazing they are, wine, going to bookstores for no real reason, zoning out and daydreaming, waking up to a hot cup of coffee in my favorite cat mug, waiting for all my senses to kick in, going into my own metaphorical "hidey hole" for a bit, stupid celebrity crushes, having one totally unimportant thing to look forward to that gets me through the week
the good;
i'm dependable, i listen, i want to learn from you, my love is unwavering, i make amazing spaghetti sauces, i'm good at scrabble but don't mind losing, i make people laugh, i try to go into every situation with a positive attitude
the bad;
i judge based on little things, i spend too much on purses, i can be downright ornery, sometimes i don't mind total social isolation, i'm lazy, i procrastinate to the extreme, i freak out when a plan i've spent energy making is thwarted
